Personal
I left Stella Niagara 11 years ago a student and am now excited to be back as a teacher! I am a graduate of Niagara University where I received my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood and Childhood Education. I have worked at a few different school districts as a substitute teacher and am excited to have the first classroom of my own at a place that feels so much like home to me. I also have a love for everything theatre and dance! Performing in children’s theatre is what pushed me to want to become an educator in the first place.
Teaching Philosophy
My number one priority will always be the safety and well being of my students. My classroom will always be a safe place for students to take risks and learn without fear of failure. I create a family atmosphere on day one and believe it helps to make us a team of learners. I integrate the use of technology, hand-on activities, visuals, and more to make sure the needs of all students are met through differentiated instruction. Every student is so unique and I love to help students develop the aspects that make them who they are.
What students will learn in my class
First Grade is such an important year in a young child’s life educationally. Students will receive rich instruction in math and literacy, as well as science and social studies. In addition, students will continue to learn and refine life skills, such as kindness, teamwork, and respect.
