Stella Niagara North Stars have a successful season!
After almost 2 years out of the pool, the Stella Niagara North Stars were able to have a VERY successful season. We competed in 6 regular season meets and also went on to the Neumann Catholic Swim League Championships. Our North Star Swimmers finished with a record of 4-2, in addition to many achievements to celebrate and be proud of.
We had many swimmers who achieved All Star status. All-Star time is an elite time set by the league for each specific event, and our swimmers work towards meeting that goal all season. The team met the all-star threshold 142 times, and we have 12 swimmers who earned a star. They are:
Cassidy Crogan in the 200 Free, the 50 Free, the 50 Back, and the 50 Fly.
Ella Kutis in the 50 free and 50 back.
Anna Lauger in the 50 back.
Adam McNab in the 200 free, the 100 free, the 50 free, the 50 back, the 50 breast, the 50 fly, and the 200 Individual Medley.
Josie Riley in the 50 free and 50 back.
Rocco Hall in the 100 free, 50 free, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 fly, and 100 IM.
Evan Kutis in the 50 free
Liam McNab in the 50 free, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 fly, and the 100 IM.
Clara Riley in the 50 back.
Lola Schimmelpenninck in the 50 back, 50 breast, and 50 fly.
Benny DeLuke in the 25 free, the 50 free, the 25 back, the 25 breast, 25 fly, and 100 IM.
Condley Hurst In the 25 free, 50 free, 25 back, 25 breast, 25 fly, and 100IM.
Elite All-Star is when you earn an all-star time in every individual event for your age group. We had 4 athletes who earned an elite all-star : Adam McNab, Rocco Hall, Condley Hurst, and Benny DeLuke.
In the 8 and under age group: Benny DeLuke is 1st in 25 free, 3rd in 50 free, 7th in 25 back, 3rd in 25 fly, and 4th in 100 IM. Condley Hurst is 4th in 25 free, 2nd in 50 free, 3rd in 25 back, 1st in 25 breast, 4th in 25 fly, and 1st in 100IM.
We also had several swimmers in the Top 10 for the League. There are 18 schools across the League, with over 500 swimmers so this is a huge accomplishment.
In the 11 and over age group, Adam McNab is 4th for 50 free, 3rd for 50 back, and 6th for 50 fly.
In the 9/10 age group, Rocco Hall is 3rd for 50 free, 6th for 50 back, 3rd for 50 fly, and 5th for 100 IM; Liam McNab is 8th for 50 fly, and Lola Schimmelpenninck is 6th for 50 breast.
Our relay squads also placed in the top 10 in the league: 11 and over medley relay consisting of Ella and Adam and 2 swimmers from St.Peters is 6th in the league, and their free relay is 3rd in the league. Our 9/10 medley relay with Liam, Lola, Rocco, and Evan Kutis is 3rd in the league, and their free relay is 2nd in the league. Our 8 and under relay squad with Benny, Condley, and Ariana Mariani is 2nd in the league for both the free and medley relays.
Adam McNab also broke 2 school records: 50 back, previously held by Erik Parkes since 2019 at 33.17. Adam chased this record all season, sometimes missing it by a hundredth of a second, and finally he destroyed it at championships, swimming 31.99. He also broke the record for the 50 free, coming in at a time of 26.36, breaking the school record by 2 hundredths of a second.
Congratulations to all of the Stella Niagara North Stars for an amazing season!
